Once upon a time there was a tree, standing tall and proud all on its lonesome in Llanberis, North Wales. What made this particular tree so special? It wasn't just the fact that it was a single tree in the landscape - it was an eye-catching centrepiece that inspired photographers of all kinds.
Behold, "the lonely tree" - or as some might dub it, "the lone tree". It was a breathtaking sight, perched upon the shoreline, its leaves waving in the gentle breeze, and its branches casting long shadows upon the surrounding area.
For passersby, the lonely tree was almost like an invitation - to stop and take a moment to pause and appreciate the wonders of nature. To snap a few pictures, capture a special moment they’d remember forever. For those in the know, the lonely tree was a semi-famous natural beauty spot, an impressive unique feature in an otherwise typical landscape.
And so it stood, heroically alone against the elements and the ever-changing natural world, ever-impressing with its beauty, its allure, and its unmatched uniqueness. The lonely tree!
The first time I visited the lonely tree in Llanberis, the weather was far from ideal with an overcast sky. I thought I'd have to give up on getting a shot of the tree with a clear blue sky. Luckily, I got a nice shot featuring two swans, which was a nice consolation prize. So since I was determined to get that perfect picture, I made my way back when the weather was a bit more agreeable, and finally caught a picture of the tree with a beautiful blue sky. Now all I need is some sunshine and I'll have my perfect shot!
Both my lonely tree photos are available to purchase from my canvas shop
