📸 Aberglaslyn Pass (Beddgelert) Autumn & Winter Photo Walks
A relaxed 3 hour creative wander through one of Snowdonia’s most dramatic river gorges, full of colour, atmosphere, and those moody seasonal tones that make autumn and winter photography so special.
 
We meet at The Royal Goat Hotel in Beddgelert at 10 am, grab a brew, and head straight into the Aberglaslyn Pass: a winding riverside trail carved between steep woodland slopes and the fast flowing Afon Glaslyn.
 
This isn’t a hike, it’s a slow, mindful photography walk with plenty of stops to explore composition, light, and storytelling.
 
🍂 What the terrain is like
The route is suitable for most abilities and includes:
Riverside paths — atmospheric, with swirling water and natural leading lines
Woodland sections — autumn colour, winter texture, and beautiful diffused light
Rocky gorge edges — well‑maintained but uneven in places, so we take our time
Footbridges & viewpoints — perfect for practising shutter speed and capturing movement
Gentle climbs — nothing strenuous, just enough to open up new angles of the valley
It’s a varied, scenic route that feels adventurous without ever being difficult.

Starting from the Royal Goat, we follow the Glaslyn  into the heart of the gorge, with chances to photograph:
The iconic Fisherman’s Path hugging the rock walls
Fast‑flowing river sections ideal for long‑exposure practice
Autumn woodland colour or winter mist and mood
Hidden viewpoints most visitors walk straight past
Textures, reflections, and leading lines that make storytelling easy
Every turn offers a new composition, from intimate details to big, atmospheric scenes.

With a maximum of six people, everyone gets one‑to‑one guidance, whether that’s mastering exposure, balancing a scene, or learning how to “see” like a photographer.
