📸 Betws‑y‑Coed Photo Walks
A relaxed 3 hour creative escape through riverside trails, woodland paths, and one of Snowdonia’s most iconic bridges
We meet at Black Rock Coffi at 9am, grab a brew, and set off on a gentle three hour wander through the heart of Betws‑y‑Coed. This isn’t a hike, it’s a slow, mindful creative walk with plenty of stops to explore composition, light, and storytelling.
🌿 What the terrain is like
The route is suitable for most abilities and includes:
Riverside paths — flat, scenic, and perfect for practising reflections and leading lines
Woodland trails — soft underfoot, atmospheric, and full of natural frames
Gentle inclines — nothing too steep, just enough to give you new angles
Steps down to Miners Bridge — well‑maintained but can be uneven, so we take our time
It’s a varied, beautiful route that gives you a bit of everything without ever feeling strenuous.
🗺️ What the route is like
We follow the river from the village, weaving through peaceful woodland before arriving at the iconic Miners Bridge a perfect spot to practise composition, shutter speed, and capturing movement in water.
Along the way you’ll discover:
Hidden viewpoints that most visitors miss
Natural leading lines created by the river, pathways, and fallen trees
Storytelling moments that help you build confidence and creative instinct
👥 Who the walk is for
These walks are designed for every level of photographer:
Phone photographers wanting to understand composition before buying a camera
Camera owners who shoot in auto and want to finally understand their settings
Manual shooters who simply want to enjoy the beauty of the valley with a friendly group
With a maximum of six people, everyone gets one to one guidance, whether that’s mastering exposure, finding balance in a scene, or learning how to “see” like a photographer.
🌄 The experience
This is a creative reset. A chance to slow down, breathe, learn, laugh, and see Betws‑y‑Coed through fresh eyes.
